Now, the Ashland team is set to put that same tough-love attitude into the ring.
Ashland’s men will compete in the NCAA Championship on Sunday.
This is the team that defeated Boston College at the 2016 NCAA Championships in the East Regional, and they have yet to lose a match in the Northeast Region.
The Ashland Paintball Team won the Northeast Regional, defeating the University of Maine 3-1 and Penn State 3-2, to win their first ever NCAA Championship title.
In addition, they will face the University at Buffalo in the regional finals on Friday.
The team is coming off of a 7-3 victory over Northern Illinois at the NAIA Championships in December.
The East Regional is scheduled to take place from May 10-11 at the Red Brick Raceway.
The finals will take place on May 22.
The final round will take a spot in Saturday’s regional final, and the winner of the regional final will advance to the regional semifinals.
The 2017 NAIA Championship was held in Boston.
The championship is presented by Nationwide Insurance, and was played at Red Brick Race Track in the Fenway neighborhood.
The championship will be played in four cities, with Boston and Ashland vying for a spot at the championship.
Ashland will be joined by Boston University, who will play the defending national champion North Carolina State, as well as Boston College, who defeated Syracuse 3-0 in the championship finals.
