Share This article on Facebook Share Tweet Email Link Massachusetts paintball mass was created in 2007 after the deaths of three men in a crash.
It has been growing rapidly in the state for the past few years.
The most popular players are people like Jason Miller and Chris Dieringer, both of whom play for a local team, The Mass Paintballers.
“We’re all here for the same thing, which is fun, and we love playing paintball,” Dieriger said.
“It’s a way for people to bond together and not have to go out and work in the office all day.”
Dierger and Miller also like the challenge of playing paintballs at a high volume.
“That’s the one thing we’ve never had in our life before,” Diersinger said.
But the game’s popularity is also a huge draw.
“The players are all super competitive, they love it,” Miller said.
Dier and Miller both play paintball at the same time, but the team’s most popular player is Dier, who played for a paintball team called the Mass Paintballs.
“I played for him last year and we had a blast playing together,” Dyer said.
Miller said the paintball scene has grown so much in the past decade that the team has had to split its time between the two leagues.
“A lot of people were starting to get into paintball now and it kind of hit the fan,” Miller added.
The Mass paintballers were founded in 2008 by two Massachusetts residents, Adam Miller and Jason Miller, who started the company because they both loved playing paint ball.
Miller started playing paint balls when he was 18 years old, but it wasn’t until he moved to the Boston area that he began to experience paintball.
“At first, I thought I was a total jerk, but I’ve learned that sometimes you need to go to the trouble of learning and learning and learn,” Miller told WBUR.
Miller says that even though he didn’t play paintballs much, he still found the game rewarding.
“Paintball was something I really wanted to do,” Miller explained.
“In the back of my mind, I knew it was something that I would love to do.”
Miller says he loves playing paint, and he hopes to one day become a professional player.
“If I do, I’m going to be playing paint football,” Miller joked.
The sport was created to be fun, but Miller says the popularity of paintball has helped to fuel the growth of the sport.
“People are so into it and they’re into it,” he said.
The first player to be promoted to the paintballs was David Williams, who currently plays for The Mass Painting Crew, the Massachusetts-based paintball squad that’s affiliated with the Massachusetts State Athletic Association.
“This is one of the biggest things for us is that it is a very inclusive and safe sport,” Williams said.
As the sport has expanded, Williams has been on the road a few times to paintball competitions.
“One of the things that I love about the game is it has a little bit of a cult feel to it,” Williams added.
“And we’re all trying to do it together, and it’s kind of fun to do so.”
